The boxes represent males and when they are colored in they can taste the stick. The circles are females and when they are colored in that also means they can taste it. The one on the left is my dad and he could taste it. He reacted better than the rest and he said it tasted like pepper. The circle on the right is my mom she could also taste it and thought it had a really bad taste she did not like it at all. Underneath my dads square is me and I could taste it, it was not a good taste at all. The square by mine on the right is my brother and he could taste it too. He reacted worse than any of us. He couldn't seem to get the taste out of his mouth.
There is a family we read about who is blue skinned. The guys name was Benjamin "Benjy" Stacy. Right after he was born he was rushed to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in 1975. He frightened al of the doctors because he was as blue as lake louise. They discovered that his great grandmother named Luna Fugate was blue all over and the bluest lady. An entire family from Appalachia was blue and their ancestral line was 6 generations earlier than the great grandmother beginning with a french orphan Martin Fugate. They think it is Methemoglobenima which is where an abnormal amount of methemglobin is produced. In this disease hemoglobin is unable too carry oxygen and it makes it difficult for unaffected hemoglobin to release oxygen effectively to body tissues. If someone has this there lips look purple, skin looks blue and the blood is chocolate colored because of the lack of oxygen. It can either be inherited or can be caused by exposure to certain drugs or chemicals.
It is very unlikely that if you have a gene you marry someone who has a recessive gene that will make the kid come out abnormal. But Martin Fugate married Elizabeth Smith who did carry a recessive gene so four out of their seven children turned out blue.
