While I was reading this article there were many word I ran into that I wanted to define so I could remember them for future reference. The first one was science which means, our knowledge of the natural world and the process through which that knowledge is built. You have to test ideas with evidence gathered from the outside world. The next word I ran into was observation which means, to note, record, or attend to a result or occurrence. In the site I used they defined it very well, they said we think of it normally as seeing with our own eyes, but in science you observe by seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting or smelling. The next word is hypothesis which I have a good understanding of since I have been using hypothesis' in science for a long time now. It is your opinion on the experiment using your knowledge before you perform the actual experiment. Experiment was also a word I knew well since we do many experiments in science. There were 2 more words which I had the concept of but I didn't quite understand they were testing and evidence. Evidence as I would define it is what you gather from the experiment testing so you could prove how it worked and ended.
Then I did the Biotechnology independent and dependent variable experiment. What happened was I put bugs into a container where infestation was low and infestation was high. When I was done with that I put harvest into the containers to see which one it would grow or grow faster in. In the low infestation container the corn grew all the way very fast. In the high infestation container the corn grew half way then died. So it showed that low infestation makes corn grow faster and high infestation makes the corn die.
