Acid in your stomach

We did a lab to see which tum worked better to help fight stomach pain. We used the name brand tums and a generic brand of tums. The things we needed for this experiment are: vinegar, 25 mL or larger graduated cylinder, universal pH paper, mortar or a pestle which is a crushing device, 4 beakers/cups 50 mL of volume, several coffee stirrers or similar devices, 1/2 teaspoon and tablespoon measuring, baking soda and 3 other antacids with different active ingredients, a clock and paper for recording data. First we looked at the ingredients on the package to find out what the lowest recommended dosage was for the medicine and recorded it on our paper. Then instead of taking out 4 cups we used two and poured some vinegar in. We stuck the pH paper in then used the color scale to find out what the pH of the vinegar was. Next we got out the mortar and pestle to crush up the lowest dosage of tums which was 2. We added the crushed up tums to the vinegar and the baking soda in the container. We mixed all of them together for one minute, and checked the color of the pH and recorded it again. For the generic tums we repeated the steps.
